- Notes: The new model 1895 was built on the proven model 336 frame and found to be very robust. New Model 1895 (1972-1979), New Model 1895S Sporter (1980-1983, New Model 1895SS Sporter (1984-1989). The Cross Bolt Safety (CBS) was introduced on all Marlin lever actions starting in 1984.
