Manufacturing details of the Ithaca Model 49
by Scott Crawford - July 26, 2021
- This is the single shot model 49 Saddle Gun lever action rifle in .22 long rifle caliber.
- Available from: 1961 to 1978/li>
- Cartridges: .22 Long Rifle
- Notes: The receivers were made of a pot metal type steel and the finish on the receivers was primarily a paint type finish. They were not noted for keeping pins and extractors in place as the receivers would weaken around the pins because of the soft pot metal. it’s a single-shot falling block with a dummy magazine tube!
