by Scott Crawford - March 28 2022  This recent addition makes my 2nd handgun safe here at home and I'm loving the convienence of having multiple small safes around for quick access yet secure storage. 
Keeping two of my favorites protected but available with additional capacity if needed Typically a large gun safe is located in a room that isn't always convenient for quick access to your hand guns and this model along with several others in the RPNB lineup solves that problem. Whether you're storing valuables, important papers or hand guns, this model will answer the mail. While security of my long guns in a larger safe is important for me, the quick access with these models solves two problems. I demand quick access for protection yet I need my hand guns locked up to keep young, prying eyes from finding them. Our children are grown however one never knows when a friend might stop in with children. I refuse to be that guy that takes the chance that a child can come across a loaded weapon in my house.
Well, let's jump into the actual review of this Biometric Fingerprint Gun Safe by RPNB for $199.99. Right out of the box it was a very quick setup - just like the other RPNB model I installed. Read the short, simple instructions to install batteries, set password and fingerprint recording. Boom, you're done. Now to find the place to install the safe. The size allows so many choices. On a desk, in a larger drawer, on a closet wall or in my case, a nice solid bookshelf. Mounting holes in the base of the safe make quick installation easy. I love the fact that there are three ways to gain access to the contents of the safe. Fingerprint scanning, digital pass code and a key entry. Find the front of the safe and insert your key if you have forgotten your code or the battery went dead. There is also a second key for access to the lower compartment inside the top compartment. This backup is important and the keys must be kept where you can find them later, keep this in mind! 
Another important note is that these safes can store up to 20 fingerprints. This is an awesome feature on a safe, especially when quick access is a consideration in troubling times. Your spouse, adult children or parents all can have access if you choose. Everybody but those who should never have access. I also greatly appreciate the silent operation for entry. Imagine an intruder in your home and they hear you fumbling with a noisy entry system. This allows one to access and grab what they need without notifying others in the next room. Perfect! For my money, this safe is a must have for any hand gun owner and I'm very happy that I added a second model for additional storage capacity around my multi-level house.
