Ruger Announces Their First Marlin Rifle Release

___

MAYODAN, NC., Oct. 06, 2021.

Christopher J. Killoy, Ruger CEO, said the first Marlin rifle to be delivered in December 2021 from their Mayodan, NC plant will be the Marlin model 1895SBL in 45-70.

Killroy indicated that the company will release this model first and will be followed up by some 336 models and the popular model 444 as well. These centerfire rifles will then be followed up by some model 1894's in 357 and 44 magnum.

He also indicated that the Marlin famous Microgroove and Ballard rifling have been replaced with their method of rifling and that initial results are offering extremely good accuracy that they are use to producing from their other centerfire rifles in the Ruger line.

The model choice for first release is a proven best seller from past Marlin releases and is anticipated to sell very well.

The company emphasized that although initial availability will be light they expect to ramp up quickly.

I know Marlin 30-30 and their 45-70, both in Stainless, are one of the best bush guns on the market today!!! Harvest lots of Black Bears, 3 moose and 7 deer to date along with a clutch of head shot grouse and hares makes these my go-to firearms and have been for a long time!!! Thank You!!!

Shame that the Ballard rifling won't be continued (Microgroove, in my experience, ain't that great, though OK with jacketed bullets).

Would like to see (a) 1894 in 32-20 and .41 Magnum as well as .357 and .44 Magnum chamberings.

And very much hope to see the Model 39 return.

I have the utmost faith in Ruger quality. I will purchase a 336ss 30-30 and 1894ss 357 to demonstrate my support. Thank you Ruger. Airborne!!!

At one time MARLIN had the LEVERMATIC magazine fed rifles in calibers like .256 and .30 Carbine. Like to see RUGER bring back the LEVERMATIC rifles, in calibers like 5.7x28, or similar type cartridges.

I have confidence in you guys. You will combine the classic Marlin with the great engineering and production capabilities that has made Ruger a standard for the industry! I can’t wait for an 1895 stainless with the gorgeous laminated stock and lever shown in 38/357. Meanwhile, I'm buying more Ruger stock/

Love that they're getting ready to kick off production, but I really wish they would have gotten rid of that cross bolt safety on the receiver behind the hammer.

Absolutely no need for that on a lever gun.

Already have a Marlin in 45/70 however I'm looking forward to buying the new ruger, marlin rifle. I am happy that Ruger has had the ability and foresight to continue this classic company.
